Newtown Youth Football and Cheer
Welcome to the web site of Newtown Youth Football and Cheer.  The Newtown Nighthawks are part of the Candlewood Valley League made up of youth football and cheer teams from Ansonia, Aspetuck, Bethel, Brewster, Bridgeport, Carmel, Hudson Valley, Mahopac, Monroe, Newtown, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Shelton, Somers, Southern Dutchess, Wappinger Falls and Yorktown.  The Candlewood Valley League is a charter member of the American Youth Football League who participates in the "All American Division” (Unlimited Weight/Grade Specific).  AYF is the fastest growing youth organization in America and is the nation's largest youth football and cheer organization with over 600,000 members with leagues in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Western Europe and Asia.

Athletic participation is a privilege that is EARNED!  Each football player and cheerleader will need to complete 10 hours of conditioning.  Football will practice 5 days a week during August up until Labor Day Weekend, and then up to 8 hours per week thereafter.  Cheer will practice Mon-Thurs during August and up to 8 hours per week thereafter, based on age.  All participants are expected to come to every practice and be on time.  The Candlewood Valley League’s level of play is considered to be Travel/Competitive and the commitment level will reflect that.

All Football Players, Cheerleaders and their parents represent the Newtown Youth Football and Cheer program and our organization is here to provide an athletic environment that promotes Sportsmanship, Teamwork, Physical Fitness and Competition.

NYF&C Program for 2010
by posted 09/03/2010

For those who are new to NYF&C at the start of each season we publish our Football and Cheer Program.  The program is similar to a yearbook for the season. It contains team photos with the complete roster and individual photos of players and cheerleaders with messages from their families (these are the ads). When you buy an ad for your child, the money goes directly to the NYF&C to pay for our equipment and most importantly those great new uniforms this year.

Tracy Hubbard, who has volunteered to run the Ad Program, will be at Taylor (Hawley) Field both Sat. and Sun. from 10 to approx. 12:30. Please consider dropping by the Program Ad Collection table which will be set up near the Snack Shack.  Tracy will have ad forms, but if you want to be prepared, you can download the form from the "Documents" section of the NYF&C web site. Prices for the different size ads are on the form. Tracy continues to graciously donated her time to make this program a success and will also have a camera if you want her to take the photo for your ad.

A HUGE Thank YOU to Tracy and to all those who have already placed an ad, your support is greatly appreciated!!

I will be at football practice Friday night starting at 5:30 collecting forms and checks for the NYF&C 2010 Program. I will have a camera with me if you would like me to take a picture of your player for your ad.

Please note you can also place a business ad in the program, which goes to a very targeted Newtown audience. Business rates and sizes are as follows:

full page, 7.5 x 9.5: $100.00
half page, 7.5 x 4.625: $75.00
quarter page, 3.625 x 4.625: $50.00

NOTE: Any business that also has an ad for a player or cheerleader in the program gets a 15% discount on their business ad.

I will also be collecting next week at the cheerleading team photos on Friday Sept. 3rd at Hawley, I will have my camera there as well.

Please place an ad and show your support!
Thanks, Tracy Hubbard
