-Each team will be given info/schedule upon check-in.
-Arrive between 9:00-9:15am.
-Teams Ready-to-play at 10:00am sharp.
-It should end on or before 1:00pm.
-79ers will not have referees

Newtown Youth Football & Cheer has gone green! Please look for special
"Recycling Only" bins located near the Snack Shack for recycling any plastic,
aluminum or glass bottles consumed during practices and games. Please note that
these recycling bins are for RECYCLING only. Please use the trash cans for any
other items to be thrown out. Cooperation with this new program is greatly
appreciated!
NYF&C is now green -- please work to keep our field clean!

The Parking Lot next to the snack shack is for coaches only and is not a drop off zone for the players. Please either park and drop off your son or drop off your son towards the back lot by the baseball field. Thanks.

Newtown Youth Cheer 2008
Upon arrival at Dickinson, please use the entrance by the tennis courts, NOT by where the pool used to be. Each cheerleader needs to be accompanied by a parent and checked in at the registration table.
The following paperwork must be completed and brought to the first day of practice.
1: 2008 Rules & Regulations Contract
2: Parent Behavior Contract
3: Copy of Birth Certificate (for new cheerleade rs)
4: 2007/2008 Final Report card (copies, please NO originals)
5: Medical Consent form
(These papers were handed out with the registration papers and can be downloaded from the Newtown Youth Football/Cheer website: newtownyouthfootball.org.)
Any cheerleader who arrives at practice who does NOT have all of her paperwork in will not be permitted to participate at practice until all paperwork is returned.
Please remember to wear:
- Blue cotton shorts (no strings, zippers or pockets allowed)
- White t-shirt/tank that can be tucked into shorts
- Cheerleading sneakers – Some returning cheerleaders will have last year’s cheer sneakers. The new cheer sneakers will be distributed in the third or fourth week of August. Once20they have arrived, cheerleaders are expected to wear these to every practice and game. Until the sneakers arrive, cheerleaders should wear athletic/running/cross trainer sneakers.
- NO jewelry of any kind. *This includes ‘starter’ earrings for girls who recently got their ears pierced.
- NO nail polish - nails must be trimmed and may not be seen beyond fingertips from palm side.
- Hair must be pulled up in a pony tail away from face.
- Please bring a bottle of water to each practice as well as a beach towel in a gym/cheer bag. We do a great deal of stretching and strengthening ex ercises while sitting/laying on the ground and the grass tends to get damp
Our first practice will be held Monday, August 4th, 2008, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at Dickinson Park.
